Julie Larkin, LPC
Therapist
My approach to therapy allows every individual the space and freedom to explore their own emotions and struggles. The therapeutic alliance is one that I hold very dear, and it is such a joy to witness people heal through connection and genuine affirmation. Together, we navigate challenges and arrive at solutions so that every client reaches their desired goals and internal peace. Along with deep empathy and evidence-based tools, sessions with me often include a lot of laughter!
A friend of mine once shared that "we all have scars – some are from stab wounds, and others are from a million papercuts." Recognizing the woundedness within each of us, I am inspired time and time again to connect deeply with my clients and accompany each of them along their journeys.
As the founder and executive director of Girl Talk, I have witnessed hundreds of women struggle to recognize their inherent self-worth in the midst of insecurities, shame, and self-harm. Through struggles with mental health, body image, and relationships, I listened as they desperately shared their longing for love and belonging. Am I enough? Am I worthy? Am I loveable? This heartbreaking yet enlightening journey led me to pursue a career as a counselor.
Outside of therapy, writing and photography are passions of mine that I love exploring, along with a morning coffee and prayer on my porch.
